Overview
Kruto is a premium Ukrainian vodka brand expanding into the Indian market. The challenge was to create a digital experience that felt as refined and sophisticated as the product itself — while balancing brand storytelling, product discovery, and conversion-focused user journeys.
Rather than building a traditional marketing website, the goal was to design an immersive brand experience that communicates heritage, craftsmanship, and premium positioning through motion, visuals, and narrative-driven interactions.

My Role
Lead Product Designer & Experience Designer
Responsibilities:
- UX strategy
- User experience design
- UI design
- Information architecture
- Interaction design
- Responsive design
- Creative direction
- Developer collaboration
The Challenge
Most alcohol brand websites focus heavily on product promotion but often fail to create memorable digital experiences. For Kruto, the challenge was to:
- Introduce a relatively new premium vodka brand to Indian consumers.
- Build trust and credibility through storytelling.
- Create an engaging experience without overwhelming users.
- Balance brand narrative with practical actions such as discovery and booking.
- Deliver a premium experience across desktop and mobile devices.
Design Objectives
Create an immersive brand experience
The website needed to feel like an extension of the brand rather than a product catalog.
Establish premium positioning
Every visual element, interaction, and transition had to reinforce the luxury nature of the brand.
Simplify user journeys
Visitors should be able to discover the brand, understand its story, and take meaningful actions without friction.
Maintain performance
Rich visual experiences needed to coexist with fast load times and responsive behaviour.
Design Approach
Story-first experience
The entire experience was structured around storytelling. Instead of immediately presenting products, users are gradually introduced to:
- The brand’s origins
- Product craftsmanship
- Premium positioning
- Lifestyle associations
- Conversion opportunities
This narrative-driven structure helps build emotional engagement before asking users to take action.
Visual language
The visual direction focused on bold typography, premium imagery, high-contrast layouts, sophisticated spacing systems, and elegant motion design — an atmosphere that reflects the exclusivity of the brand.

Conversion without disruption
Calls-to-action were strategically integrated throughout the journey, so users could take action without interrupting the storytelling flow.
UX Considerations
Age verification
Implemented age-gated access to ensure compliance with industry regulations while minimising user friction.
Mobile-first optimization
The experience was carefully adapted for mobile users without compromising visual impact.
Performance-focused design
Heavy visual content was balanced with optimisation strategies to maintain responsiveness and loading speed.
Clear navigation structure
The information architecture was simplified so users could easily explore content without becoming lost in the experience.
Key Outcomes
Strong brand storytelling
The final experience successfully communicates Kruto’s heritage and premium identity through immersive digital storytelling.
Premium digital presence
The website elevates the perception of the brand and supports its market positioning strategy.
Seamless user journey
Users can move naturally between exploration, engagement, and action.
Consistent multi-device experience
The design maintains visual quality and usability across desktop and mobile — and adapts for the Indian market launch.

Reflection
This project reinforced the importance of designing experiences rather than pages. For premium brands, users are not simply consuming information — they are forming perceptions. Every interaction, animation, and visual detail contributes to that perception.
Kruto became an opportunity to blend storytelling, UX strategy, and visual design into a cohesive experience that feels both elegant and purposeful.
What I’d Improve Today
Looking back, there are opportunities to push the case study even further:
- Include deeper research documentation.
- Showcase user flows and wireframes.
- Present moodboards and creative explorations.
- Document design iterations.
- Highlight measurable business outcomes and engagement metrics.
- Create richer motion and interaction breakdowns.
These additions would provide greater visibility into the design thinking behind the final experience and elevate the project into a more comprehensive product design case study.
